If you want to be humane about it (and I hope you do) call the local animal shelter. Our shelter maintains a file of people who deal expressly with wildlife. They could either give you suggestions, or even come and trap the animals for you.

If this isn't an option, then check with your local farm and garden store for animal traps. You could probably do this yourself, and remove the animals to a safe environment that isn't your attic.

Good luck to you and them!

You have to close ALL entrance areas. Even the very smallest ones. There are chemicals that repel and or kill squirrels. You could buy a small live trap and remove it yourself. Squirrels will go for the old peanut butter and bread bait. You really need to find out how they are getting in. You are probably loosing a lot of heat/ac through that hole.

call an animal trapper from the yellow pages. He will be able to locate the opening in which the squirrels are coming through and will set up a one way door so the squirrels can exit but not enter. This will cause your furry friends not to be harmed and kept them out of your attic!

Live animal traps do work, but if they are stubborn or smart enough to overcome the trap, you can have an exterminator "smoke" them out.

don't know if it'll work, but you can set traps. they have traps which just traps squirrels in a cage, and then you can take it and let it go somewhere else.

my mom used them, when chipmunks were digging under our deck.

Remove the nuts from your home (this would include your husband or boyfriend, if necessary)
