Do you forget how most Americans came here? By killing off all of the original inhabitants, and claiming their land for themselves. This land was built, for better or worse, on the influx of immigrants from all over the world, so what gives you the authority to close the borders now?

Anyway, most of the complaint I hear about illegal immigrants is that they take jobs away from Americans. At least they have a work ethic. Its the legal American citizens who are ripping off welfare, etc. by refusing to work.

PS, what is this "True American" uprising? Are you refering to the startling uprising of the KKK which is back in business and protesting immigration? They are the idiots of society. I'd trade an hard working illegal immigrant for a racist idiot as my neighbor any day!

First off, I am Pro-Legal immigration. After all, unless you are a Native American, your people had to have immigrated to the U.S. from somewhere. If someone from another country wants to move to and live in the U.S. I am fine with that and support it wholeheartedly, but they should do it through legal channels and try to integrate themselves into American society (i.e. learn English). Similarly, if I wanted to live in England there are certain legal steps I would have to take to become a citizen; I couldn't just fly there on vacation and stay, they would throw me out.
That being said, I am also Anti-Illegal immigration. It is unfair to those people who spend the time and energy becoming legal citizens, that others just sneak in and stay. I also have a problem with people who move to the U.S. and have no intention of integrating themselves with society and denounce America while praising their old country (i.e. Mexican immigrants asking "why don't you treat us like Americans," while holding up a Mexican flag...pretty goofy huh?). I have no problem with ethnic pride. If your people are from Ireland, be proud of your Irish heritage, etc. However, if you are an American now, you should be flying the American flag and supporting America. After all, it is hard for other Americans to consider you an American and not a foreigner when you isolate yourself that way.
Just my two cents.
