If we make Putin apologize then he will have to stand in line which all the other leaders who have made insulting remarks!!

No because a lot of Americans insult Bush. Also Saturday Night Live always mocks him and they don't apologize so why should Putin.

No. The first amendment to the constitution guarantees the right to free speech. Granted, Putin isn't an American, but he should be allowed to say what he thinks. I think Putin is a dangerous, dictatorial, commie, with delusions of grandeur, so we need to know what he's thinking to know how to deal with him.
