Depends on the size of the hard drive, RAM and processor speed.

HP bought Compaq Presario, go to www.hp.com, enter the model number in the search area, then click on the free online Tech Support Chat, it's free and ask him/her, a chat window will open when you click on the link

I don't see why it wouldn't be worth hooking up. The worst I can see happening is unhooking it. ME isn't that bad. Of course there are better but it could be worse, like not having a computer at all or buying a computer from someone to find out it runs ME and you can't get your money back. Haha.

ME is the worst OS yet to come from MS. it's about as stable as a catflap in a hurricane. !!!
I would install win 2000 pro on it as it is a very stable OS and should run fine, do not put xp on because being an old machine you probably won't have the ram to run it properly(you need at least 256mb for xp. as well as my two desktops and a laptop running xp, i have an old laptop with a 600 mhz pentium 2 with 128mb ram and it runs well with win 2000 pro.

It's up to you... How much is your time worth? If 2 hours of your time is free than I'd say it's worth it. ;)

Just make sure it has a decent graphics card, hard drive(s), processor, and board. Anything about 800x600 (minimum/or maximum resolution is alright). Maybe 1.3 ghz central processing unit, 256 MB Ram/DDR Ram/SDDR Ram is cool... What else... It's your call

it totally depends on what you are going to want it to be able to do. if you just want an internet machine, or just an email machine it can do that. if you just want a machine for basic kids games sure.

if you want a "gaming pc", or a pc that will let you run the most current applications on the market, you probably won't be happy with its performance.

the whole point is figure out what you want to do with a pc, then get one that can do those functions - you never want to get a pc and then see what it can do.....

i'm hoping the reproduction of XP you're utilising has no longer been loaded on any of your different machines, identity it has it is going to refuse to turn on. this may lock the device in 28 days. it is going to also cancel the unique activation and make the disk ineffective for fix.

If you do have the time, i would format it and put windows 98 in it or 95 or linux. Heck, i'd even replace it with DOS LOL
