sure, i think michael bay comes under so mush criticism and yet i think his films are nothing but entertaining with some great action scenes, he wont win any oscars but will do this film justice i hope, as long as its not too childish like Thunderbirds was.
transformers really does have a deep story though and hope this translates well to live action.

Bay is known is reputed for making blockbusters. That is all we can expect from Transformers. I think the studio knew that when they hired him to direct it. They want to make money, and that is what Bay does best. He makes entertaining movies with lots of action and a little humor. That's what the people want. The original Transformers movie and show(s) never were too plot heavy, and I don't think we can expect this one to be either. That is why Bay is the perfect director.

I'm not sure Michael Bay has a mixed record if you look at his films. a lot of his work is somewhat repetitive without a lot of originality, which I think is needed for a film like Transformers.
II was hoping Robert Zemeckis who was in the final three got to direct it.
Hoping it is as good as the 1986 animated movie. Although it will not follow or copy the storyline.

All that matters is that it is a Steven Speilberg produced film which means it will be epic excellence!
