I was due to start my period on around the 1st of feb, but instead I had a week of light spotting. I've taken 2 pregnancy tests, one last wednesday, one this morning that have both come back negative. I have no history of skipping periods. I did however have spotting when I was pregnant last year (which 3 tests failed to show). I'm 27 and started menstruating when I was 13.
If this isn't pregnancy, does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Sometimes spotting can be normal. Did you recently start a new BCP, or restart the pill after a time without taking it? I would make an appointment with you doctor, or at least call and talk with the doctor on call if your doctor is not available. Explain to them your situation and your past experience. If you don't have a regular doctor, you can always try the free clinic. Oh, and the brown is just old blood...nothing to worry about.

I had a day of brown spotting in place of a period last April and I now have a 10 week old son to show for it!!!

Missing a period or having a very light one could be a result of hormonal imbalance. But as you mention that your previous pregnancy wasn't shown up in 3 tests this might be a pattern for you! Maybe wait a few days and do another test or ask your doctor for a blood test.

Have you been stressed out a lot lately? Sometimes stress can do weird things with our hormones. I have had this happen to me before and it was always during a time when I had a lot on my plate. If you were pregnant, you would be far enough along that a pregnancy test should show it. You could take another if it would give you peace of mind, but it's probably nothing to worry about.

It is normal. If your having severe pain it could be a sign of endrometrious. Only a doctor can tell you that. You could have had a small injury or strained too hard when lifting this past month. That happens to me sometimes. If it continues and this is the first time it has happened, let your gyno know so that she is aware of it during your next pap. She can then decide to perform other tests on your culture or tell you what she thinks about it.

This could be pregnancy - one thing for aure time will tell.
When the blood is brown that is usually when you are
coming to the end of a period. Best thing - go to the doctor
and let him do a blood test.

If you are not overly worried take a test with your first wee in the morning as your hormones tend to br stronger or wait and see if you miss next period then you are more than likely pregnant
