I would not try to convince of anything. It is between the two of them. I am not sure if your reference to child out of wedlock is meant to be a bad thing?

You can't convince her to do that but you could try to point the down falls of her decision. She may get mad at you. I knew better than to try to convince my best friend of 20 years to dump the alcoholic felon boyfriend she hooked up with because I knew she would tell me to get lost. In the ended I just went quietly away from the friendship. It was funny too because he dumped her for a year and then only called her because of his DWI's and he had his license revoked and had to wear an ankle bracelet. I can't believe she didn't see he was using her. All I know in the end it is their decision no matter what you do.

Why is it that you want to convince your friend? Is it because of the child? It is not the childs fault. Come on and give the lady a chance. And the child also.
They could be soul mates

you cannot convince him but you can try to help and guide and warn him. First of all tell him to wait til at least they get engaged and at least a year to make sure he knows her before marrying her. Why is he in such a hurry and how far apart do they live?

Well if you think it's a mistake then talk to her tell her your concerns for her, and if she still decides she want's to go through with it then support her decision to do so, and if it doesn't work out she will have you there to help her through it.

You need to butt out, your friend has every right to meet people and decide who she will and won't be with. Let her walk her own road in life.
