what is being said is in a way correct, £25 14 years ago was pretty good. But you need stability. Your a full time mum, not a part time dad who shows up once a week with a bit of cash and thinks thats his part done! I would ring the CSA you can apply online, they are not all bad, you just give them your details and then the dads details and they will take the money from his wage and put it straight into your bank account. It is worth a try and I can't see why you haven't done it sooner.

He should keep up with his payments, although sometimes due to circumstance people might miss a few payment. It's understandable if there's an explanation and advance notice. If you know for a fact that he's missing payments to go drinking, that's inexcusable.

To be honest with you and if you think about it, it could be worst. There's alot of single parents who doesn't get any financial help from the other parent and that's a lot of money fourteen years ago.

You didn't mention how old is the child.

Wow ! 25 quid 14 years ago was a lot !

Stop whining, I think you've had your moneys worth.

What are you going to do when your child becomes adult (16 Scotland, 18 England) and you get no more money ?

i would suggest going to the CSA but they're crap and ou would probably end up with nothing for months so just keep on to him if he's given it for so long i'm sure hes not going to stop now as for arrears payments or take him to a small claims court but you have to have a written agreement with him to do this. good luck

Some single mothers get only that amount now, so to have that 14 years ago was damn good.
