Or is it true that absolute power corrupts absolutley, as someone would have to regulate it ( a la big brother or animal farm)
Would we if we were all the same colour and religion still find something to discriminate against?

No Utopian society can ever exist. However, good leadership and responsible followership can cause the society to gravitate towards utopianism. God has made His creations such that negative and positive will have to interact to produce an effect. It is the disproportion of positivity and negativity that creates non-utopianism. Only God Himself knows the best proportion, which is currently applied by Him in Heaven.

The homogeneity of religion, race, birth, etc. can never bring about the elusive utopia.

Well I would think that the Mormons in Utah think that they have an Utopian society, and the rest of the world would not agree. We as people are not ready to dissolve inner conflict and accept people for simplistic reasons. We are a culture of war and power, just look at the long line of historic events.

It's a great dream and it would be great if we could all get along and help each other, even watch over others children, we would all be teachers and mentors.

I don't think a utopia will ever exist. Lets put it this way, if they ever come up with a cure for cancer there will be a group that totally puts it to use and another one that abolishes it. It is human nature to argue, defy, and destroy everything good on this earth. That is why Marijuana is illegal and we destroy forests and fight over gasoline when hemp can take care of that even more effectively than our current way and about 100,000 other uses.

There is a problem with the very concept of "utopian society":

Who is to determine what "utopian" means?

If you are referencing a society at complete peace and enlightenment, I do not believe it can exist. At all.

Humanity, by its very nature, is not going to allow this.

A utopia could in no way be waiting to exist. there'll continuously be one person who thinks they deserve greater beneficial than all and sundry else, or somebody that feels they are greater effective. there will be somebody who needs to have each thing and there'll continuously be followers who will keep on with what the grasping individual is asserting, then somebody will desire to bypass against the 1st individual. it incredibly is going to likely be a chain reaction. all and sundry has diverse perspectives on how the international could be run and what could bypass on in the international.

Even if we were all the same colour, Yes, I bet a dollar that we would still find a reason to discriminate. *sigh* It's sad.

if utopia means lack of predation ... it is not possible as all is interdependent. something lost ... something gained.

life is not static. because of the constant change, our definition of perfection and utopia would also change ... giving rise again to possible struggle and conflict.

that's why i think the idea of heavenly afterlife appeals to some people ... it's billed as a place without change ... the roles and responsibilities are forever frozen.
