You get to stay up late, and everything.
Seriously, it just means that you're not a minor and you are looked on, in the eyes of the law, as an adult. With that comes all the responsibilities and ramifications therein. One of the best advantages is having your freedom and independence. Hopefully you begin to learn how to live and make good choices while maintaining an open mind. Perhaps develop an appreciation for the good things that life can offer and show the world what kind of individual you are capable of becoming.

Your parents are relieved that they are no longer responsible for your actions.
Can own a house, rent an apartment, vote, leave at all hours of the night and not worry about getting grounded when you get home, sex shops..
Some say smoking is, but I don't care for it. So that's a con for me.
I'm turning 21 in about 15 days. I definitely know the advantages of that for me. =)

At this time you should be in preparation for graduating from high school or planning for that move to college. Anticipation of new friends, new schedule, campus life, exciting events or getting a job awaits you. You are a young adult, finally in control of your future, it is time for wise decision making and owning up to responsibilities, fall back on your values and morals to guide you through.

Moving out and getting to know the real world where you don't have mommy and daddy paying your bills, you have to get a job and support yourself.

your parents are off the hook! you are the ruler of your world. everything you do, you are the only one to be held accountable for. its all your decision. just remember and be smart. if a situation comes up and your not sure what to do, ask yourself? wouldn't I want my parents or other family to find out about it ?, no, then don't do it? enjoy the hell out of your brief youth.
