I unfortunately need to install windows 98 on a new 80gb sata drive due to outdated (and very expensive) software that won't run on any O/S above win89. I was trying for a dual boot win98/Win XP Pro ... the problem is that windows 98 installs, but when complete it won't boot into normal windows, only safe mode and no CD Rom detected... any ideas? When it does try to lod windows normally, it freezes. The new hard drive is good as it installs and runs win XP just fine.

It will boot into safe mode only. I do get an error message about not being able to find and install hardware in safe mode.

If I am not mistaken, win98 does not have serial ata drivers. So when it trys to access the hard drive, it just doesn't see it.
