How and why do you think children and/or youth develop problem behaviours? How do you know when a child or youth is troubled? What do you think child and youth care practitioners need to do to help children they work with? Give examples.

You really think this can be answered here? I've done term papers on this topic and it took much more space than what we get here. In fact, this sounds like a term paper that YOU should be doing! So if you don't know the answer to this question go review your notes and reread the book.

People see what children are troubled, by their behavior, by listening to them. This is partly a matter of experience. There are no hard and set rules. Children will show they are troubled by all kinds of behaviors. Some will withdraw, others will become aggressive, many will just work less well. Child care practitioners need to pay attention and take the time to listen.
