Girls generally avoid exposing their underarms through sleeveless dresses even if shaved. And if they have hairy underarm they always remain extra cautious not to raise their arms and feel embarrased. Why so? Boys also wear sleeveless t-shirts but they damn care about their underarms. Why? Why girls show this much hesitation and remain ashamed about their underarms? Why they cant treat it as a natural phenomenon? Cant they live normally with their hairy underarms? Any answer?

it's unattractive. do you like looking at women with hairy pits? i DON'T. i might even vomit if i see that. i think it's part wanting to be well-groomed and hygienic. but i do know many european women have no problem with hairy underarms...good for them

Sweat and bacteria. Underarm hair is dirty and when you sweat the smell is microscopic bugs. When the smell gets on the hair it is very difficult almost impossible to get the smell out of the hair and that allows a lingering smell even after putting on a good deodorant. It is unsanitary for a man to wear a tank top with exposed underarm hair in a food establishment. Sweat drips off the hairs and can land anywhere without the knowledge of the exposing person. But when you have that sweat drip on you or in your food it won't be pleasant.

us girls have grown up with a society that forces us to look a certain way or behave in a certain way, and if don't we will be considered out of the norm!
no matter how hard we try to say that we don't care about the society, it will always remain the most important part of all!
talking about natural phenomenon of its ok to be hairy, that existed probably thousands of years ago, but today and even in the recent but past centuries, we know that women have to go through a whole lot to look beautiful, elegant and clean!
so underarms are part of that beauty looks!
Also, women like to differentiate them self from men, as well as men like to look different from women! and if a woman sees another one with hairy underarms she will criticize her!
so we don't have the hairy arms and legs that our ancestors once had, we are sexy and feminine!

men does'nt care 'bout this stuff because their men.. i've heard in some myth stories that men are more stronger w/ more hair!!! it's pretty awkward to have the same thing (the underarm thing) w/ the men to ladies... we ladies are ashamed to expose our armpits is becoz most of us hav dark underarms... that's why....besides hair in the underarm increases more heat/causes the body temperature to high... then the underarm perspires and causes body odor... so girls are bad w/ b.o. right? so girls don't want to hav underarm hairs besides from it looks ugly it causes b.o... tnx...

in Nigeria, Africa many girls do.
In fact for a certain period of time (b/w 2001 and 2004) i noticed it seemed to be a new fad among twentysomething year old girls around.
But as to ur last question, i think, personally, i would be a bit less attracted by a chic with a bushy arm pit. And at best, at peace, with one with hers shaved and Anti-Perspirant-protected.
