the main problem in Darfur is that the government subsidizes Arab militias, known as the janjaweeds, to kill Christians and Animists. These villagers and villages are raped and killed, and are systematically pillaged by the janjaweed. the people in turn flee the countryside trying to escape the janjaweed, therefore no crop is planted, thus causing a lack of food. The aid money that is supposed to go to the people of Darfur end up in the pockets of its leader, who is the one subsidizing the janjaweed in the first place!!! and no one wants to censure his government...
