They are very important. It is a milestone because I am alive, healthy and happy. And regarding my loved ones, it means celebrating their existence.
On my birthday, I thank my mother for giving birth to me. I like to give her flowers because to her, it is also a special day. I also thank my father for being always for me.
I love to celebrate my children's birthdays. even if they are not small anymore, they love the idea of a special day all for themselves. They are the center of attention. I also celebrate my parents and siblings birthdays. We look silly with the hats, balloons, and tacky birthday celebrations, but we cherish these moments. Next year I will be 50. I want to celebrate it in a big way with my loved ones.

Very important. It is the most important day in the life of a person because it is the day we were born. It is the day we entered this world as we know it.
Every single day we age 1 day, so when the birthday arrives, we only age 1 more day, not so tragic after all. My friends and family thrown a party for my 40th birthday. Birthdays are opportunities to eat and celebrate.
Birthdays are also opportunities to review our life, review our goals and objectives. As weird as it sounds, a few days before my 40th birthday, I finally accepted that death is part of life. I now feel at peace with passing over. I used to be afraid of death.
Yes, birthdays are important to me...not in a flashy way, but in a way to celebrate life, celebrate my being and as a marker to review my life and try to improve it.

Wow, my b-day was two weeks ago and I was thinking about this very topic. I just turned 25, and though I really want to have my b-day still mean alot, it just doesn't anymore. I don't know why. Maybe it was hard this year because earlier in the month I lost a very dear friend. :(
As for other ppl's b-days, I do like to try and get at least a card, if not a present. And I do try to make a big deal for there b-days. Especially my friends kids, since its all still new to them, and there's hasn't lost there magic.

I love my birthday considering the altenative, NOT having any which would mean I would be dead.
I go all out for other peoples birthdays... Cake, Ice cream, balloons, gifts and sometimes a scavenger hunt. It is NOT just another day... I want to make those I care about feel even more special on their special day !
: )

Birthdays are very important to me. It is important for me to celebrate my own birthday with friends and family cause that way I can know that they still care.
And I always give my family presents on their birthdays so that regardless of what else happens in my life, they know they I haven't forgotten about them. That I still love them.

Worse than other days. There's this impending feeling that since it is a birthday, i need to be having fun and enjoying myself. It's just generally straining and irritating!
