what do you think we can do to improve things for the american mother? i have always felt like people look down on mothers in our culture. sometimes i wonder if thats why people get abortions and dont want to be moms. mothers are not revered. people always assume young mothers want welfare and to eat potatoe chips all day. on the television, i feel they are portrayed as haggard and fat and like their lives are passing by and they long to do other things than to be trapped into being a mother. i have never felt mothers were are respected as i see them being respected in other cultures. however i am happy that a lot of actresses are having babies and still maintaining their careers. thats a positive. what do you think? what do you think we can do to improve things for the american mother?

I honor mothers. Most of the mothers I know work full-time, and have little or no hired help at home, where they undertake the vast majority of domestic chores and childcare duties. These mothers remain cheerful, loving, compassionate, and self-sacrificing. Without exception they all say the eight hours they spend at a job is a lot less stressful than their time at home. Okay, they miss more time at work than childless women - kids get sick, teachers want conferences, and dentists don't schedule evening or Saturday appointments. Sometimes it is aggravating to childless people like me who have to take up the slack at work. But most of them don't abuse it. And in general, I believe working moms are quiet heroes. I wish I still had mine so I could tell her that again.

Mother's work is a hard thank-less job. Moms are the backbone of any society. We are unappreciated because we do all the dirty work with no pay for what we are worth. If we were to disappear off the face of the earth, and leave the raising of kids to the men, this world would go into total kaos.
They would be so glad to have us back, we would be worshipped as gods.

And maybe if some of the butt-head fathers paid child support, moms wouldn't have to go on welfare. They whine about moms being on welfare, and they whine about paying child support.

just look at the american mother who is indeed on welfare, eating potatoe chips all day and having more babies knowing that the usa taxpayer is going to support her children and her... these are the mothers people in america look down on.... i don't believe a working mom is looked down on by her fellow americans...... as for the foriegners who now reside in america, who cares what they think... and are you a citizen of this country yourself?? do you have children??? if so do you support your kids or does the taxpayer support them?
