I can remember having a fantastic time eating their on my hubbies birthday, wonderful meal and fantastic environment I just wondered if it was strictly touristy or was popular with the Americans too?

It's popular with most everyone. We had one in Nashville, Tennessee and now it's gone and we miss it.

If you are talking about Joe's Crabshack, I used to eat there all the time, it has great atmosphere and good food, it was probably my favorite place in the whole world while I was pregnant. I know that They had regulars coming in there all the time, and Dustin Hoffman was there once while I was. (The Crabshack In Naples)

i have been there before. and i think it is popular with americans more than it is strictly touristy.
