I think vinyl sounds warmer

A vinyl record captures the music closer to the actual wave pattens of the music than digital versions. So vinyl is more accurate sounding.
ALL Digital music is compressed. Even on cds. That compression unfortunately, tosses out certain frequencies. Resulting in a less accurate product. It isn't highly noticeable to human ears in most cases. It just sounds too sterile more than anything else, in my opinion.
I remember listening to my Dad's LP collection growing up. Boston's debut sounds way better on vinyl. He took time to clean his equipment and polish his records. That cured a lot of scratch and hissing. If it were still widely available, I would go with vinyl over digital.

Actually most of the current vinyl pressing are sourced from digital master.

Technically vinyl has less (limited) dynamic and frequency response range then digital medium. But there is also one more element that make vinyl (and the other analog medium) sounds "different", that is slew rate.

In analog medium the slew rate is slower, so the peak are not reproduces as spontaneous as in digital. Hence we hear the sounds smoother and warmer.

It definitely sound different. Its the imperfections in the record that makes the pops and crackles that people hear, and the sound is less refined and clear than in digital. I think that they are both better and worse in their own ways. digital has a better sound quality, but vinyls seem more unique.

vinly sounds much better than digital.
digital sounds like computers and pocket calculators and shiny, uniform CDs.
vinly sounds like the name of a fantasy hero, battling the dragons of his and his society's emotions. sir vinly of happegrand. "get back, malkiar, you demon! i will save the princess oom!"

and it obviously sounds different, spelled with different letters and all.

Analong has more dynamics and a wider Mhz-Hz band than digital. It's not a myth, it's a proven fact. You can find research results/documentation to support this all over the internet.

both my vinyl and cassettes sound "fuller" to me. after a while my MP3's hurt my old ears. I thought I was imagining it, but.......maybe someone knows why that is.

Hard to say, it's definitely more crackly, quieter, not sure if I could say better or worse.
