No, they are not for beginners to wearing heels. I agree with icegirl_dayana and I think wedges are the most beautiful kind of shoes! They add to your height but they are still comfortable enough. I love the person who invented them...

Wedges are too cute to be only for 'beginners'. However, they are a good footwear choice for learning to balance and walk with a higher heel. As others have pointed out, the broader base of wedges provides more stability as you get up in the world. That said, it is still probably a good idea to start with a medium height (2 - 3") heel. You can work your way to higher and narrower heels as you feel more comfortable and confident.

Wedge heels are quite easy to walk in as the wedge is evenly underneath the whole shoe.
With a high heel, there is 2 points and the heel is very pointy making stability something you learn to walk in not naturally adapt to like a wedge.
I wear both wedges & heels and the only difference I find is wedges are more casual, whereis heels are dressy

wedge heels are easier to walk on. after a while u'll get used to it and feel brave enough 2 walk out there with real high heels. wedge heels are for beginners i guess. and they're pretty high so its like extra preparation. cos if u wear high heeled shoes with a stiletto heel then u feel as though you are wearing a pair of really high shoes though with wedge heels on, it doesn't feel that high. so something extra high is better. and it ups ur self esteem. so good luck with it! have fun in ur heels!

No wedges are different from heels. Wedges have more support and are more comfortable than heels alone. Like that other chick said you have more stabillty. Wedges are totally in this season! don't pay attention to that!

They are easier to walk in, but can be just as sexy as regular heels. I own many pairs of heels, and only a few wedges, but that is only my preference. I am attracted to many a woman who wears wedges, I just like heels better...

Yes wedges are great for someone just starting to wear heels because you can easily wear up to a five inch heel, then when you switch to a four inch stiletto later on you will have no problem

Wedges basically is more secured that high heels. But some are pretty high and are just as difficult to walk on as high heels. Wedges also more casula i think.

Well people say wedges are for beginners cos they are easy to walk and balance. If you are a first time high heel user, you cant start with a razor sharp stillettoes as you will end up with calf muscle aches.

Just a guys point of view. Wedges are not very attractive and are not feminine at all. They make girls look frompy . If some fashion designer in NY took two blocks of wood and put a strap on them and said this is what is in style , girls will go right out and buy them and wear them. Stick to classic high heels and look great !
No platforms please.
