Only one thing is in YES and it is population of india. Yes it is second to China in respect of Population, Otherwise all other things are mostly propaganda.
USA needs india to defeat China (which is a neighbour of india). US politicians and specially in new cons lobby make it happen and propgade india more than china.
US officer is quoted as saying: "We want a friend in 2020 that will be capable of assisting the US militarily to deal with a Chinese threat"

China is ahead of India in technological production and innovation and on a per capita basis, produces more technical People (engineers/programmers).
