I think this is supposed to be the last season of Gilmore Girls. The witty repartee that we usually expect has been much more toned down. You can definitely tell they are leading you off into the sunset, storyline wise. I also thought they brought back some of the original writers to wrap things up. The whole tone is reflecting the "growing up" that is being done by all the characters. I can see why some would be somewhat disappointed in the direction of the show, but good things cannot last forever. :(

While I haven't seen any commercial saying there will or won't be a Gilmore Girls 8th season... I wouldn't hold my breath. It's been over two years now. The actors have moved on... They couldn't just start back up where they left off on the show. I think they pretty much "jumped the shark" since it obvious that Loralei has left Christopher and she and Luke made up. It was also obvious that Rory was ending up with Logan. She showed Mitchum on his opinion she was no good as a writer. And then we have Lane and Zack happily married with twins and whose mother has come to terms with Lane's choices. It's pretty much a done deal. Might be a movie at some point but I doubt anytime soon.

My best friend and I are religious GG watchers. At the beginning of the season we were very disappointed by the new writer's lack of ability. But we both think that as the season has progressed it has gotten better. I think the new writer has been having trouble getting into the swing of the Gilmore Girls "mentality".

are we talking about saeson seven? in australia season 5 hasn't even aired yet but i download from u torrent and am eagerly awaiting each and every episode to become available.... nope not dissapointed at all. love evry episode

Yeah, me... I think they made a HUGE mistake having Lorelei marry Christopher... and everything that follows from that. I still watch, but not voraciously any more... and Rorie and Logan are boring...

Yeah, I used to really like it but now, it seems like they're trying waaay too hard. It really makes me sad, cuz I still watch it hoping for something good, but it never happens...
