Are you sexually active? Have you ever been sexually active? What you are describing sounds a lot like hymen - the tissue at the opening to the vagina. It's a very thin layer of skin and tears after a girl becomes sexually active and creates no problem whatsoever.

Hi,

I have a question for you. Is this skin on the outside of the vaginal opening in an area of skin that looks like a set of lips?

If yes, I have had problems with excess skin growing on the set of skin that looks like a lip but protects the vaginal opening and I had to have surgery to remove the excess skin removed.

Does this skin hurt at all? If concerned definitely talk to your dr about it. If you have any other questions for me pls don't hesitate to ask.

If it's blocking the opening of your vagina then you'll have to see your GP about it. I'm sure this would have been something your parents would have notice when you were younger. Can you talk to your mum? If not, just ask your GP and they will give you an honest answer.

from the exterior it doesn't sound like a problem to me. however, it could also indicate that there could be an abnormality from the inside that caused that piece of skin there. see a gynecologist and get a vaginal exam.. i understand your hesitancy but they are people you can trust and will deal with you professionally and will try to help you.
