How long would it take to travel from Pittsburgh to Cincinnati by a Riverboat, or from Cincinnati to St. Louis?

Probably no more than 12 knots if that. That would be about 13 1/2 miles per hour. That would be maximum, In reality it would be more like 6 to 10 knots downstream and maybe 3 to 5 if going against the current. So it would be distance divided by speed depending on upstream or downstream, also whether the vessel would travel at night or put into shore during darkness. I hope this is helpful to you.

Great Question. JohnKmaye has it right but it would depend on the size of the vessel ,plus the hp and gearing plus the
size of the paddle wheel.
I have a cruiser in the summer in Pittsburgh am really
intrigued by the size and creature comforts of a paddle wheel
it would save a lot of props getting banged up . I am looking
at a 85 ft. paddle wheel in Minnesota , The Columbia.it is
on the web. It can be driven here to Pittsburgh. really
weighing it , also live in the keys going to find out how it
could handle the blue water offshore in the ocean Tucker
Marine in Cincinnati made the boat.... have fun..
