I wish to buy one for my new house but wonder if they are complicated to install and are they reliable?

this is a serious question, I mean a type of door bell, I am not rich and would not have a butler if I was. It is a type of door bell that was used in the victorian era.

It operates on a simple pulley system and should not be too difficult for a personal installation. Since a traditional Butlers Bell uses 9m length chord, it will need to be replaced occasionally. However, regular use should have it lasting a suprisingly long time.

I found this PDF file on how to install the Butler's Bell. I am not sure if it is any good, but it seems to be what you are after. I hope it helps. You will need to go to the website to open the manual.

Good luck.

Why not just use an ordinary bell? Less fuss and it works the same.
