You really can't take Wikipedia as an only source, it is a good place to start though, with references to other sites on the subject you're researching. I have found a lot of interesting sites by starting with Wikipedia.

There are a LOT of topics that aren't covered in Wikipedia. It's just an encyclopaedia, not the answer to every question in the world ever! Anyway, Yahoo! Answers has more of a personal, community-based feel. :D

Because its a hell of a laugh on here.

I never realised there were so many self-opinionated, thick-as-sh*t people in the world until I started using this forum.

They all think they're right and they come up with some of the most preposterous shite I've ever seen or heard in my life sometimes.

Good question. Now, why post it in the History category?
I have never once used Wikipedia (or "wiki" for the in-crowd) to answer a question. Don't forget the other infamous two-word answer found here quite often - "google it."

You get a wider range of opinions here. And Wikipedia isn't the best place to get your answers from. You can't just rely on one source.

Wikipedia is not that reliable because some are changing the data in it.

because with wikipedia, it can be edited and so some of the information or facts could either be wrong or have been made up

There is plenty lacking in Wikipedia. It's got a long way to go.

As to the point of this forum, if you don't like it, leave it - no one is asking you to participate.

I'm usually over in genealogy, so I really enjoy helping someone if I can. The laugh over here is whether someone really wants to know, or if they just want someone to do their homework for them.
