In USA, the women are Economically independent and educated.
They do not want to be "controlled ' by men. They want to be respected and loved.
Some remain to be unmarried because they are afraid of divorce.or her career is very demanding and she may not want to have children.

A single woman has many disadvantages because society feels insecure of her.
In this 'world of men' a woman needs the protection of a man especially if she is living in the slums or if she is not economically independent.
Just as a man needs the company of a woman , a woman also needs the company of a man, but the society is conservative, and permissiveness is not allowed for a woman, so she is at a disadvantage.

1. maybe it because of the family back ground. which her mother divorce her dad because of what so ever problem and the daughter dare not repeat the same mistake.

you say single women has more disadvantage???
i do not agree.

women are now very independent (in which ever way). they do not need a guys in her life to support or even have a family. they can always go and adopt a child or go to the bank sperm.

think again........

No way. Married women have less advantages because everything they do has to be cleared with their husband. (It's the same for married men, but that's another answer.) Single women have the freedom to do what they want, when they want, without answering to anyone. That's why I'd rather be single than partnered in any way.

Nope I don't think so.

I've known many single women and they were all happy and successful. In fact, all of the married women I know can't quit complaining about their husbands. Here is why they divorced them:

One's husband was a compulsive gambler.

One's was an abusive drunk.

One's was a cheater and a liar.

One's was a con-artist who screwed her and took all that she owned (she was a millionare who owned lots of properties) and left. She is now barely surviving and in serious debt.

All of them had tempers and acted like children.

So, I think I'll keep to staying single. I'm much happier enjoying the simpler things in life. =) =p =)

Because women are getting tired of having to be mothers to men.
Why should we have to do all the cooking, cleaning, shopping, bill paying, child rearing, etc. while they sit on their butts. When we live with a man it's like having an extra child to take care of.
Not only are women finally able to make it financially but have learned they can live without a man and be very happy.

As far as disadvantages, I can't think of any.

Disadvantages- no way! Studies have shown the happiest demographic group are single women.

I like the fact that I am not linked to anyone's: children, credit, decisions, job, family but my own and other entanglements that can make life messy. I have no need to make concessions to anyone unless I choose to do so.

"Why women are abandoning men"

Remember the days when little girls grew up dreaming about a knight in shining armor whisking them off their feet to live happily ever after? Remember when a woman's foremost fantasy was finding the man of her dreams?

Well, that's all over now as women are abandoning men in droves and learning to find happiness completely on their own. Two astonishing studies show just how alarming the trend has become.

First, there was the study, from the National Marriage Project at Rutgers University and others, that two-thirds of all divorces today are initiated by women. These numbers beggar belief.

RESEARCH SHOWS that when a man leaves his marriage he is usually leaving for another woman. Men, especially those who have already been married, don't function well on their own. They need to be taken care of. So it is rare for a man to leave his marriage unless he is leaving for someone else.
Often he trades in the mother of his children for someone who is younger and more submissive. But for wives, the very opposite is true.

Ninety percent of all women who leave their husbands go out into the wild blue yonder. They are leaving their husbands and accepting what is often lifelong single status. They would rather be alone than stay with a man who does not appreciate them. They would rather live by themselves than with a husband who doesn't speak to them, who won't share of his inner self, and who chooses the company of the TV over theirs.

The single woman may live in loneliness. But she lives with the hope that one day she will find a soul-mate who cherishes her. But what does the married woman who is abandoned have to look forward to? In my 20 years of counseling, I have discovered that the loneliest women of all are married!

An even more shocking statistic was released last Monday by The New York Times. For the first time in American history a majority of women are living without a husband. The Times reported that 51% of all women are living without a spouse, up from 35 percent in 1950 and 49 percent in 2000.
How could this possibly be?

SIMPLY STATED, women are giving up on men. Whereas they once harbored hope that men could satisfy their needs and make them feel appreciated, today they are finding far greater satisfaction in career over companionship and from female friends over husbands.

These are the consequences for a culture that for half a century has mercilessly exploited women as a man's plaything...

Now, unless women are complete toadies and sycophants, this is not something they're going to put up with for long. So they're dumping their husbands and abandoning the whole concept of marriage…

And it's not the women who suffer most. It's the men...

Single person can decide all matters. Married person can not decide. Married is slave. Single is king. I was king before 1981.
My wife says that I have made her Naukrani. In US, women want to be queen.

Really? I've heard of statistics in other countries that the number of women deciding to not marry our increasing but that MANY in our country?????

Well, American women may have good reasons to preferring single hood, but I guess that means to us American men better start exploring marriage markets in foreign countries.

Actually, men benefit more from being married. They live longer. They do less housework. Being single has very rewarding advantage, especially for those of us who don't want children.
