Hi, I'm 17 and currently a junior.
I would like to know what are my chances of getting into Wellesley, Brywn Mawr, and other Seven Sisters Colleges.
I have a 4.1 GPA. I took honors classes in 9th grade, an AP class in 10th grade, and I am currently in AP chemistry, AP language arts, AP US history, and AP art history.
I scored 1710 on my SATS the first time and will take it again next month, and will score higher (since I studied ths time =)
In 9th, 10th grade, I was on the Varisity Swimming team. I am also in school clubs (MUN, German Honors Society).. and i can speak another language. That about sums it up.

What else can I do to improve my chances? I attend an american high school in Germany, by the way.

Oh, I forgot. I'm also in National Honors Society and volunteer around the community sometimes (5 hours a week)

When it comes to admissions to elite liberal arts colleges, students really do not have a lot of control over decisions. Students can be accepted at one school, but declined by others. It's kind of a crap shoot.

But here's what you DO have control over, and should focus on:

Your SATs will be crucial. If you're not above a 2100, your odds go down precipitously.

Step up your club activity a bit, ideally, earning a leadership position.

Step up your volunteerism. Again, leadership in some respect is desirable.

Your admission essays should be literate, focused, and contain a coherent narrative. They should definitely convey in some way that you are absolutely passionate about your studies, or about SOMETHING. Wit can be helpful, especially if it is intellectual wit.

Also, Seven Sisters schools usually have an optional interview with an alumna. Take that option. You will not have to travel to the states, as there are most certainly alumnae in Germany who can conduct these interviews. At these interviews, be poised, honest, confident but not pretentious, and again, demonstrate your passion for SOMETHING.

I wish you every success!

you've an effective probability of entering into. have you ever made your record in accordance to reaches, safeties, and 50/50? a number of your colleges would highly reject you, because they determine you're solid sufficient to get right into a more beneficial "elite" college (i grow to be rejected from a cal state, yet were given into George Washington!). have you ever also made your record in accordance to affordability? Your GPA is effective when you're not any further taking under consideration ivy league. except for, after taking 3 AP classes in line with semester in my junior and senior years, and all honors classes, i can allow you to understand AP is a waste of time. you're taking a route, and also you would get credit in case you bypass the exam with a score your college will settle for. OR, you are able to bypass to community college, bypass the route, and it counts regardless, so long because it is transferable! IF money is an argument, i'd take classes at an area college that move over, and also you'll enter college with 0.5 your freshman 3 hundred and sixty 5 days knocked off. In different words, on your second semester, you're a sophomore!
