If you're talking about when she sings, most people don't have an accent when they sing. Just think of all the bands from Britain. Most of them sound quite American when singing.

Also some of us from the south try to suppress our accents on purpose because of the negative connotation that comes with it. Lots of people hear a southern accent and automatically assume there's an idiot talking. I'm from the south, and depending on who I'm talking to, have almost no accent.

not everyone in the south has a southern accent. she probably lives in a city in arkansas and not out in the country. i live in houston, tx and don't have a southern accent at all. i don't even say ya'll...it just doesn't sound right to me!
i think it's funny when i meet people from non-southern states and countries and they ask, "where are all the cowboys and horses...where can i buy cowboy boots and hats to take as souvenirs?" i don't even know! lol all i know is that we have a rodeo every year in feb. and that is when one can see all that stuff.

When she talks she has a hint of the southern accent, but when she sings it's not possible to hear it. I think it's because of her upbringing and constant singing that her voice lost the accent. Some people sound funny when they talk in their normal voice when you've always heard them sing. I guess Amy's one of those who 'sing' their words.
