"cali for"..yeah , ?? very often when i use the term "khuyet tat" people dont know what i'm talking about [ but thats usually because of my poor pronunciation].. that said i visit MANY handicapped people in viet nam and THEY refer to themselves as "khuyet tat"... next time i'll try using your termenology ..ong cam on ban.

"cali for" one other note: ive noticed diffrent parts of the country use diffrent terms to discribe many things.. this is certainly true w/ viet kieu..and the vieynamese i've learned from books & tapes is nothing like whats spoken on the street in sai gon , nha trang, and the countrysides

PS. I don't know why khuyết tật means handicap. Khuyết means lack of (either fully or partially) and tật means a bad habit or a physical deficiency. If a persons lacks a physical deficiency, doesn't that means he/she has no physical deficiency, meaning no handicap?
