All cells need nutrition to live; even one-celled animals.
Survival is a natural instinct. Nutrient consumption and waste disposal are essential to survival.

One of the roles of the paramecium (it's ecological niche) is to control bacteria and other autotrophs(living things that produce it's own food source). The paramecium is a Hetrotroph (depends on autotrophs for food).
But to answer you question completely, I would suspect that parameciums and most hetrotrophs eat continuously ( 24 / 7 ). I suspect that they are God's little vacuum cleaners. As soon as a paramecium has digested its food, it quickly goes after more.

Paramoecium eats because it is a living thing. All living things eat to survive.U see that's the difference between living and non living things. So far man thinks it doesn't have intelligence. But u know there is a possiblity. It is true that it doesn't have a brain. But even that brain is necessary for feeling and thinking is only man's discovery. If u can prove other way around then Bravo!

I imagine that they eat almost continuously. The bacteria they catch are contained and digested in vacuoles, so perhaps all the nutrients are not released into the cell at once. Perhaps what you consider hunger in Paramecia is just a chemical deficiency, say, of a particular nutrient, this could trigger a response to become more active in feeding.

RE:
Why do paramecium?
I was studying when I was struck by this question. Why do paramecium eat? Do they "feel" hunger? Do they eat because they "know" they have to in order to survive (i. e. intelligence)?

Well, they certainly don't 'know' they have to eat in order to survive. That much is obvious.
They don't 'feel' hunger the same way they do, but they are driven to eat. It's in their genetic makeup.

They are machine like. They move towards food because they have receptors that trigger movement towards food. They do this because evolution favored those that move towards food. There is no thought or complex feeling, just preprogrammed responses and simple chemical behaviors.
