a)
80% of 12 = 80/100 x 12 = 4/5 x 12 = 48/5 = 9(3/5) = 9.6 in decimal form

b)
75%<------->56
100%<-----> 100/75 x 56 = 4/3 x 56 = 224/3 = 74(2/3) = 74.7 to 1 decimal place.

c) 85 out of 200 in an examination would be a % mark of:-
(85/200) x 100 = 85/2 = 42.5%

First answer:
=80/100 multiplied by 12
=0.8 * 12
=9.6
Second answer:
=> 75/100x = 56
=> 3/4x = 56
=> x = 56 * 4 / 3
=> x = 224/3
=> x = 74.666666.......till I sleep (this question is wrong, I think so)
Third answer:
=> x/100 * 80 = 50
=> 80x = 50 * 100
=> x = 5000/80
=> x = 62 and a half (62.5)
Fourth answer:
=> x/100 * 200 = 85
=> 200x = 8500
=> x = 42.5
But I have rechecked my answers 3 times. They're right but why are your answers coming in decimals?

1.9 3/5 OR 9.6
2. 74 2/3 OR 74.666666...
3.62.1/2 OR 62.5
4.42.5% OR 42 1/2%

1. Take 12 divided by 100 then multiply by 80.
2. 56 = 75% of another number
That number = 100%
So, 56 divided by 75 then multiply by 100 = 74 2/3 OR
74.666666...
3. 50/80 = 5/8
Then 5/8 multiply by 100 = 62.5 OR 62 1/2 = 62.1/2 OR 62.5
4. 85/200 = 17/40
100 divided by 40 then multiply by 17 = 42.5% OR 42 1/2%

80/100=x/12 => x=80*12/100=9.6
56/x=75/100 => x=56*100/75=74.7
(x/100)*80=50 => x=50*100/80=62.5
(x/100)*200=85 => x=100*85/200=42.5

If you don't know then I'm going to teach you. Trust me it's the best thing for you because you have to know.

1. Grab a calculator multiply 12 by 0.80 (thats 80% in decimal form)

2. Multiply by 1.25 (because you have to add 25% to get 100%)

3. Devide 50 by 80 (because its 50 out of 80, this is also good for marks on tests you want to calculate later, remeber that :)

4. 85 devided by 200 gives you the percent (same as above)

I hope Im right, good luck

Simple, for the future, put the numbers on one side and the percentages on the other side, like this:
# %
12 100
x 80

Make a cross or an X and have each side of the X on a side of the equal sign, like this:
12*80 = 100*x

Solve for x:
x = (12*80)/100
x = 9.6

Same thing for the other ones:
# %
56 75
x 100

75*x = 56*100
x = 74.6667

# %
80 100
50 x

80*x = 50*100
x = 62.5%

# %
200 100
85 x

200*x = 85*100
x = 42.5%

This is your 4th question where you've typed in a bunch of percentage questions. MOst of us don't need practice with this stuff. You obviously do need practice.
