Tata was not given land for IT revolution but for manufacturing cars (at least in West Bengal). There is no dispute between the IT or the industrial revolution in general and the Green revolution.
Each of them arose according to the need of the hour.
Industrial (or IT for that matter) revolution is a logical corollary of human advancement and will ultimately be effective even in the increment and betterment of agricultural production.
However, a balance undoubtedly has to be struck between the two, so that all the agricultural land does not give way to concrete & steel.

Agriculture alone cannot make a country prosperous. There should be development in all fields which generate employment. We cannot keep poor villagers in ignorance and compel them to cultivate land for the benefit of the middlemen and the rich traders. When a farmer's son is educated, he would like to work in an industry and not plough his land. Let us discard our slave mentality and work for the welfare of all. This should not mean that we should neglect agriculture sector. Farm land should be nationalised and the Govt. should ensure work for all farmers. Let us not compel a poor farmer depending upon the vagaries of nature to hold on his small piece of land giving him no opportunities to compete with others.
