i have one now its a 1993 318is , i need to know the details thanx!
please give me some information about lubricants to be used in my car, gasoline, automatic transmission fluid and others

Older BMW's are known for their weak cooling system. The fan clutch and upper radiator neck is plastic and cracks.

IF IT EVER GETS HOT TURN THE HEATER TO HIGH AND SHUT IT DOWN AS SOON AS YOU SAFELY CAN!
The head cracks when hot!
If you change the coolant the system has to be bled or air.

Other things are:
the rear suspension bushings where the lower a-arm connects to the body infront of the wheel.
Clutch Slave cylinder, when they get old and it is really cold out the diaphram rips and you have no resistance on the clutch pedal.
Front seats rip.

Other then that pretty good little cars.
