I have had drug addictions in my past. They are very hard to beat. So, when you fall, and you will, do not give up. Keep trying. Most of the symptoms you are having are a direct result of this medicine and once you stop it, they will eventually go away. I will give you an example of how I quit smoking, although it is a much different type of addition, the same principle can be used here. One day I decided I was going to quit smoking. I had been smoking for 10 years. At times I smoked up to 2 packs a day. When I was preparing to quit I was smoking 1 pack a day. I counted exactly how many cigarettes I smoked in a day. The next day I would smoke one less. The next day I counted out how many I was allowed. This continued. At times I failed and went over my allowance. However, I really did stick to it. I finally got it down to taking a few drags from the cigarette and then putting it out. I was down to one a day and would take a few puffs here and there. Then the day came, and I stopped. The point of this story is to continue what you are doing by taking less and less. Figure out how much you consume in a day. Figure out a realistic amount less you would consume the next day, etc. As you take less and less, it will become easier some day to stop. You must not give up. It will take a long time. Do not feel badly if you make a mistake. You just cannot give up. I have been addicted to many drugs including what you are addicted to, although in the U.S. we tend to take pills rather than cough syrup. I would also start doing exercise. Eat as well as you can. Drink lots of water. You are the only one that can help you. Oh, this is very important: stay away from anyone and everyone who does this drug with you. If you are around people that do drugs, you will never quit. Good luck.

If you have been taking that for 4-5 years, stopping it at one go as some people here are suggesting, can harm you. Codeine is an opioid, just like morphine or heroin. You will need a great deal of help in stopping this drug, including a drug-replacement for some time before stopping completely, and psychological help. At hospital they will direct you to the closest detox centre in your city. In my country detox services are provided for free to all drug addicts, i'm sorry but i have no idea what services are offered in India, but i'm sure you'll find help if you look!

Those symptoms you mentioned are the things you are noticing yourself, there will be other effects which cannot be seen with the naked eye. Be sure to get checked, and i would avoid experimenting with herbs and stuff with a low immunity.

Good luck, but remember that drug addiction is a chronic disease, it is going to be a constant battle so don't give up if at first you meet a few hurdles!

You say that you are poor person and mind well any such drug addiction is snatching your money.First of all drink lukewarm for whole the day while you feel thirsty. You should drink at least 8 litre water every day. Then bring the Tablets of HARADE from medicine shop.take it every night.use the Variali frequently ,eat the same anytime you like.Drink the lemon juice in water base with little salt and cumin(Jira) powder.Use the paste of ginger and garlic more in your daily food. You should consult the General Hospital and take the medicine as advised.Make the daily schedule to go to the religious place wherever you are having the faith ..Go there ,pray the God/Goddess to bless you and forgive you for the mistake you have done and you are doing.Pray to help you for better future.

Just stop taking the drug!!
you will not die from stopping.
Just stop!
the symptons you have are from the medicine.
how are you getting it?
don't buy it, tell your doctor you are addicted to it.

you will have cravings, but not bad with draws.
just don't do it anymore.

consipation is from the drug use.
low energy is from the drug
it numbs you out, no motivation
no sexual desire due to drug is more important
and it slows down your heart and body functions.
you are not hungry cuz the drug curbs your hunger.

just stop taking the cough medicine.
BE STRONG AND DON'T BUY IT.
GO TO AA MEETINGS, AND TREAT THIS LIKE YOU WOULD TREAT ALCOHOLISM.
YOU SAID YOU ARE AN ADDICT--
TO STOP== IT'S SIMPLE QUIT!!!

TAKE VITIMAN B
and liver cleanse herbs.
you will have cravings -- but you have a will power to quit and live a healthy life.

just stop doing what you are doing
and stop one day at a time.
take it one day, one minute, one hour, then it turns into day, week, month and you have your life and energy and drive back!

Good luck
