Men can be shallow dogs, and some men will only date women who don't have an ounce of fat. But does this go both ways? I think it does- I think overweight men have as much a hard time getting dates as overweight women. I had a chat with a friend- she said women are not as hung up on physical appearances as men, but I tend to disagree- If anything, I think women are more concerned with appearnce. What do you all think?

I believe so, but I also believe that the standards are somehow more relaxed for men- a man can be heavier and still be considered sexy, but a woman has to much thinner in order to do so.
But yeah, I believe that both sexes are equally hung up on appearances and weight, although there are individuals of each sex for whom it either doesn't matter, or more weight can be a turn-on!

Hello and thanks for entertaining with your question. First and foremost I am a man. Mature but not elderly. I have been in the single life for a very long time. Along the way I was injured... But to make a long story short I gained weight.
Yes women are just as generic and or shallow as you put it. I have been rejected because I don't have the ideal body type these women find attractive. You do know the A list cliche? Its alive and well and still on American Pretty Peoples Minds.

Women are judgmental, but I think many women care about other things more than physical appearance. I think women care more about if a man can be financially supportive, has a good sense of humor, or if they are loving and caring than just their physical appearance. Having qualities such as the ones I listed will cause a woman to view a man as attractive or more attractive than he may actually be. Also, some women view large men as teddy bears whereas most men find large women as repulsive, unless of course they are chubby chasers. =)

No. Generally, (and there are exceptions) Women are more willing to forgive or overlook certain undesirable physical traits in men (fat, bald, etc)-not so with other women... Generally, (and there are exceptions), men are much more judgemental and harsh about womens looks and are much less willing to overlook these same certain undesirable traits, especially overweight. Those have been my observations in real life.

women folk are a lot extra possibly to toss out random compliments frequently, as a results of fact they are nicer! i think of guys might sense extra loose to praise women folk if there have been no longer the stigma of "He ought to be hitting on me" interior the air. No. Men are visual creatures, women are auditory. We (women) are less likely to judge on appearances and more likely to judge based on what comes out of the man's mouth.
