Only select phones would you be able to do that. Just like only select phones can you take a picture or play MP3 music on. On my Sprint PPC 6700 I can do it all. I cancelled my ATT home phone service and the ATT home dial up internet service. I use the phone as a modem like DLS service to my desktop computer. So I would be able to hook up to a fax machine too. Just get the appropriate driver and good to go.

Yes, it is possible if you have android based smartphone. Download the apps and fix it by wifi.
