I never read the introductions - I don't know why. However, when I was reading Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent, for some reason I did, and yes, it gave away the whole story. I was really rather annoyed, because, while it was a very interesting book, I think I would have been shocked at several turns of events, making it an even more interesting book. It's like movie trailers - you have to leave something to be enjoyed.

Good question. First for me, I read the back cover. If it gives a good enough scenario, then I'll skip the pages in front. If it is a "reminder" of a another book, then I'll look at the front pages of the one I'm reading. So, to say, I will look at the Prologue, until it gives the "story" away.

yes, i do that sometimes...it usually depends on the book, but i still wont deny it lol...but i usually do it, because i want to get right to reading the book, and not all this other mumbo jumbo stuff, although we probably should, it probably gives some vital background information sometimes...it really does bore you away from the book...so yes sometimes i do skip ahead

good point

ciao

Um... no. I usually skip it because I'd rather just get to the story.

I read it after I've read the book.

Many of them are quite fascinating.
