Yes, ebay has. Look at their recent acquisitions. I tried for 5 years to make a living on ebay. They made money, UPS & USPS made money. The IRS made money. Etc, etc. It's a pipedream otherwise. I told them to stick it up their butt. Hope they die with every penny.

I have but I found the charges were not worth it such as commission and paypal deductions. I now have a website where I promote what I was selling (source box) and find I do a lot better. The site is becoming more popular and I receive more sales than I did when going through ebay. It is an easy product to sell as anyone can use it. That is the difference, you need to sell a popular and sort after item. A good item on my best day sells upto fifty six units. Thats not bad and if you have a product like that, sell it on ebay but add the charges to the reserve price.

Some say they do but I have never met anyone who has,the trouble is if you find something that sells well you soon find that others start to copy your idea and then they under cut you ,also when you take into account the listing fees commission payment and or paypal fees you soon find that your eating into your profit margin by quite a bit,however I do know someone who buy's end of line /catalogue return clothing from a supplier off eBay and then sells them via her market stall,and boot fairs and does quite well out of that,but she couldn't sell her stuff back on eBay and make anything like the money she does through the market.

Where people can buy something cheap that other people want and are prepared to pay more then why shouldn't somebody make a living?
There are certainly businesses that make a large percentage of their sales/turnover through Ebay.
