they say WD-40 removes grease off anything
you would need to spray it and let it start to work then with a damp cloth gently start to soak it up off the carpet.

If it's grease like from a car, use WD-40, and quickly pinch blotch it up. Test on a piece of carpet like in the back of the carpet. Immediately shampoo the area as soon as the grease is lifted. Chow

Try brown paper and a hot iron first to absorb some of the grease then use one of the approved and recommended cleaners to finish the job.

use oops or goof off on it, and absorb it back up with a clean white cloth, keep doing it till you have all the oil out and then clean a good sized area with resolve carpet cleaner

White Spirit! Buy some from your local DIY store, but be careful to test it first so it doesn't stain. I have used this on oil and it's great.
