I want to know how people would feel if a talented black female came on the scene. I would like to show the world my talents in acting. I lead a tough life and since I was young had made many mistakes and put my dreams on hold every since I got in trouble with the law at 17 had children out of wed lock. I am 34 and married now and still have a strong desire to act in serious roles. I have been told I am a good actress, but I am scared my past will make you guys view me before you really get to know me. How would you react to a talented black actress that would like to take on serious roles in movies? What should I do not to get attacked by the tabloids?

I think you are too old to be getting into Hollywood now. That's my honest answer. It has nothing to do with your past or skin color.

If acting is really what you want to do go for it. We all have pasts with something that we regret. Grandmas go back to college, so why can't you pursue your dream. Girl, being 34 is not too old. Don't worry about the tabloids. If you make it big just make sure you have a good pr person :=)

I don't know what you should do about the tabloids but if acting in a serious movie role is what you really wanna do, then you can do it. Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it cause you CAN

Do not listen to anyone who gives you the balogna about "being to old". Do research. It happens. If this is something you want-go get it. Forget what ANYONE else says.

If you choose acting, its public, live with the tabloids. In fact, you want to be attacked by the tabloids in certain ways.

If that is what your true passion is and your husband supports you, I say you should give it a whirl. We are nor guaranteed tomorrow, so give all you got. Don't worry about the tabloids. Even if you do nothing wrong they will make up something. Those people are scoundrels, they are not even worth worrying about. As far as your past, if people don't ask, don't tell.

Tabloids are gonna dig up stuff, that is what they are paid big bucks to do. But you shouldn't let that stop you, just look at Oprah's background. She overcame all that and still is successful even though everyone knows what she did and what happened to her before fame.
So join the crowd and go for it girl!

Did you see 8 Mile?
Remember Eminem's character told all about himself during the battle and left his opponent speechless.
That's what you should do. When you come out. Tell all about yourself. Then the tabloids won't have anything to say that people don't already know, making their "story" worthless.

"Oh did you hear about (your name hear)? she did this and that"
"Uh yeah we know, she was on Leno last week, don't you have some UFO's to chase?"

good luck I look forward to seeing you (on the big screen)

Hey who cares if the tabloids attack you. Have you not heard that there is no such thing as bad publicity. Your life can't be as screwed up and freaky as most of the celebrities I have heard of. I say go for it.

I think you should go for it. The past is the past. Move on. It's never too late to fulfill your dreams. It you don't make it at least you can look back and say "At least I gave it a go." and who knows, maybe you will. Good Luck!
