im 35 weeks pregnant and today at around 10ish i started lightly bleeding..it was of a brownish or pinkish color..about an hour ago it was a reddish color!!! im worried..i also have a huge pain in my side..my dr. said nothing is serious and he said just take it easy..well i was at my friends house and the pain in my side was so bad i had to leave!!! also completely off topic..IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE A PERIOD WHILE PREGNANT!!!
anyways..also i have been having to go to the bathroom alot..like poop and i never have before this much!!!
does any of this mean labor is closer??

i think this could be asign of labour (premature) spotting means hormonal drop,i would say rest as much as you can and go to the hospital ....pressure on anal area like you want to poop is also the sign of labour.....try to rest and take it to 37 weeks

I'm not sure about the blood as that never happended to me.
With going to the toilet do you actually poop? If you dont poop then that does sound like the beginning of labour, that is how both of mine started. Several hours later the contractions started.
I suggest going to the hospital and explain what is going on, they will examine you and check everything out. If you are worried than it is always best to go the hospital.

I just found out I am pregnant earlier this week. I already went out and bought the book, "what to expect when you're expecting" So far it is great, and yes, there is a part in there about how in the 8th or 9th month, it is common to spot a little. If you are truly worried, insist your doctor examine you, because he has a duty to put your mind at ease.

Most likely baby is turning, and also it may be that your cervix is just priming itself for the arrival of your baby.
You can also spot after having an exam, or having intercourse, or even an orgasm.
The defecating just means that your body is preparing for giving birth. Your body will clear it's system out so labor is easier.
