Those are actually files that have been compressed and split up to make each section of the archive smaller.

Imagine having eight small pie boxes and one big pie. You can't fit the pie in the box as a whole, so you cut it into eight slices and then put each slice in a box... Similar situation here.

I believe you need a program called HJSplit(1) to rejoin the files. First, move all the files that you have that are numbered like that to the same folder. Then you'll need to download, install and then run HJSplit... Click "Join" and then follow the instructions.

If you find that that doesn't help, try simply renaming the files' extensions. In this case, ".001", ".002", etc. are the extensions. Try renaming those (right click the file, click "Rename", then delete those numbers and replace them) to popular video formats (try .avi , .mpg , . mpeg, .rm, .mov, as those are the most common).

But I still think it's split up, so use HJSplit first.
