There is a tremendous amount of water locked up in the ice sheets covering Greenland and Antarctica. If they were to melt due to global warming, they would release enough water to raise sea levels by many feet. This would put many coastal areas underwater, displacing 100's of millions of people world wide.

Global warming cannot flood the world. There simply isn't enough water on this planet, either in liquid, solid, or gas state, to cover all the land surface. Global warming can, however, raise mean sea levels to the point that modern-day coastal areas could be sumbmerged, thus displacing hundreds of millions of people farther inland.
Global warming is a fact, by the way -- not propaganda. The idea that global warming isn't a fact is the propaganda.

The melting of the icecaps will cause a rise in sea levels. There is a lot of ice in those caps. If you live by the sea, now is the time to sell up and move a few kilometres inland. Here in Australia, many seaside councils are regulating that anything being built by the sea must take a 1 metre rise in sea level into account.

Well, it won't flood the world. Sea level will rise as the polar ice and glaciers melt, flooding coastal regions including many of our largest cities.
