America has to be the worst country in the world for the reason they never change. We have never change diplomatic deplomacy. The people never change the government. Our economy sucks and so does our army. We never do riots which change government far faster than votes. Lastly we never do anything dramatic in war so we can catch a Osama Bin Laden.

profligate behavior : debauchery b: unrestrained revelry c: noise, uproar, or disturbance made by revelers

public violence, tumult, or disorder b: a violent public disorder; specifically : a tumultuous disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons assembled together and acting with a common intent

That is the defination of riot. Which would mean you would have to create a disorder. So your saying war riots create disorder they don't even stop people from walking through them or stop traffic even. So it is not a riot.

Yes, Rodney King riot was the last real riot I can think of. Wikipedia even say that's the last riot in America. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riot

2005 Toledo Riot was the only riot since the Rodney King riot.

Mostly, because we have to go to work in the morning. We in this country are on the cusp of a catastrophic systems failure, but being on the cusp and being in the midst are two very different things. Riots occur when either a populace is wealthy enough that a riot won't disrupt the basic lifestayle of the rioters(the 60's) or when the populace has nothing left to lose(the 30's). Right now, we have a situation where our poverty keeps us working when as a wealthier society we could afford to riot, but we are not so poor as to have nothing left to lose, so why not riot, as it were. Before I hear someone get on me about poverty remember the massive gap between rich and poor in this nation and the fact that the personal savings index is lower than in the 1930's. It is really just a matter of time.

Whenever a sports team wins a championship, i.e. the Chicago Bulls winning he NBA Championship, there is always the threat that a riot will occur in that city. Thus, the police departments have to "gear up" for trouble.

Riots have occurred in L.A. over politics and perceptions of racial inequality.

The riots at the Democratic National Convention in 1968 (mainly caused by the police presence) prompted the prosecution of "The Chicago Seven."

The last two-named incidences have caused the administration to alter or change some of their policies.

A total revolution is not necessary to influence the government. However, a total government upheaval will destroy the economy, i.e. Iraq.

Lastly, what dramatic actions are you recommending, concerning war? The U.S. is the only country to use the atomic bomb (twice, even) to fight a war; WW II.

In conclusion, we are not a country of sissies. People riot for what they believe in, right or wrong. And, the rioting does affect governmental action, prompting change.

We do have riots but they usually don't make the international news. I agree that we're afraid of change but our economy is doing well and our army is doing their job. We don't change our government because we're afraid of change. I hope you're not favoring a coup or revolution because it will backfire. Besides, if most Americans don't even vote for third parties like Green, Libertarian or Constitution, why would they support extremism? There are better ways to get your voice heard. Support things like electoral reform (the Electoral College, alternative voting systems to elect our Representatives, the works) and this will have you work on something useful (if you like any other thing fine but you said the gov't is a problem) and build it up that way. I favor revolution, a democratic revolution where each voter can vote for who they want without listening to the duopoly and their allies and also support electoral reform so we can do away (or at least outlaw) smear campaign ads. And I bet you if more people start working (I'm working by doing alot of research and sending pro-democracy organizations like Fair Vote my proposals), we'll get a change. Our gov't won't change overnight but if we start soon enough, American democracy will become better and we can finally vote for people based on their platform, not their checkbooks! Yeah!

Sissies are those that accuse without basis! Change? We are constantly changing! Who was the President of the United States eight years ago? Who was the leader of Iran eight years ago? Change is what the constitution guarantees! Voting is revolting! You want a better economy than the richest nation in the world? Good luck. Just because Osama hasn't been found, doesn't mean that our army sucks, or that he is still alive! Those soldiers are in a sense us out there defending our right to vote! Now people are saying that we are losing the war because we are defending the Iraqi peoples' right to vote? I vote No!

If you think America is the worst country in the world you obviously haven't traveled much. Sadly, there is no such thing as a government that isn't corrupt anywhere in the world.

Also, there are riots/protests in America over the war, over the government and various other things. Maybe, you should leave your house sometime and look around you.

Riots are for the people with weak minds. Just look at the last election. It was a big change. Overall the economy is fairly well, and the army if meant to fight and destroy not to re-build.

Rodney King rioters in LA. Cops got off the charges, city nearly burned itself down. For your added information, our military is the finest on earth. Stop believing that liberal crap you've been spoonfed. Our military is the best trained and best equipped. The only reason why we haven't caught Osama is because he is HIDING. He's not sitting around waiting for us to come round him up. Also, we have the highest economy on the entire planet. What rock did you crawl out from??

YOu don't even have to go back as far as the Watts riots - there are some riots in the U.S. every year.

Maybe paying attention to your current events and surroundings might help you get off that high horse of yours.

How come in the United States we have no dimwits who are unpatriotic and ignorant and feel that they have to insult everything and have some sort of crazy uprising like the one that happened in downtown, in order to not be called a sissy(as if countries call eachother up and have sissy fights)...

oh wait, we do have one...YOU!
