There is no single reason for the lack of intimacy---it disappears after a couple starts finding out that real life is hard, money is tight, and pressure and stress can strain a relationship. You need to realize that billions of couples go through this--you are not alone. Now, lets start with the lack of communications---too busy to even have a few minutes of relaxing talk and see how each other is doing. You need a quiet talk time--EVERYDAY---no outside interference--just talk. Humor is also something that helps keep the sanity--put on a funny movie or have a joke of the day. Men and women should share housework---help each other get it done--leaves time to relax together. Take time to stay well groomed and try to eat healthy---not fast food all the time. Eat good food and take a vitamin pill--it's a fact about nutrition and well being having a connection. Take a ride to just a nice easy place for a cup of coffee--ALONE. Compliment your mate--and mean what you say.Leave work at work---leave home at home--and never go to bed mad. Fights are a loss of control--remain calm, be cool, be nice and smile at each other. Don't say mean stuff--and don't yell and scream. Talk like adults. All this stuff should help keep a hot relationship going. Good luck

We let the everyday things in life over come us. We need to sit down and open the bible and read what jesus says and wants between a man and a woman. If we would all do that, i think there would be less divorces. You need to read the book called "The Pupose Driven Life". I wish me and my ex would of read it, because now it's the children suffering.. I'm divorced and it takes alot out of someone..

when life gets in the way, and you 'dont have energy' to be intimate. You need to make time for each other and not take each other for granted. So therefore i think the key is communication.

And effort. One spouse can't be the one initiating all the time.

Christina Aguilera and her hubby have 'naked sundays' (saw it on the Ellen show the other day!). I'm sure that keeps things spicey.

Probably starting to feel like you're relatives more than lovers as you deal with all the mundane ordinary aspects of running a household and family, i.e. chores, paying bills. Marriage turns lovers into relatives is a bumper sticker I saw once.

I believe that we take the people and the days of our lives for-granted! I have three children and we are raising a nephew! Trust me it's not the kids! It's the relationship is under appreciated! Be thankful for your partner and remember how much you mean to each other! One day hopefully after a life time together and maybe not, they won't be there! Enjoy today and fell sexy!

Nagging/critisism, disrespect, neediness, insecurity'lack of self confidence, bad attitude, lack of integrity (actions, words and emotions aren't integrated, a.k.a says one thing, does another and can't be counted on). Any of these kills intimacy.

Children. Especially if your spouse won't allow a babysitter for adult time in the relationship and says that is selfish to want adult time.

Was there really emotional intimacy to begin with?
