About the only thing 'free trade' is good for is large businesses & corporations. Currently their are more than 3 million businesses that have moved overseas. That's alot when you consider how many people these businesses once employeed. Thank our Govt for that. Corporations like Nike have businesses overseas & they make their products & ship them back to the US to sell. Of course we are talking about child labor & sweat shops in many (most) cases.
Many people do buy American products only. All we are doing is ruining our own economy. How sad. Someday it will be our own demise, wait & see. Unless the American people revolt & vote everyone out of office that insists we keep the free trade agreements (cfta & nfta) we might as well give up. They claim the economy is great, but the disparity between the rich & the poor is growing ever wider. The only ones who really benefit from this great economy is the rich, not the poor or middle class. I can't believe that Americans just don't see it, can you?

All the American companies packed up and went overseas for the cheap labor. Buy American was a union slogan and the Republicans went on a campaign to gut the unions, make everyone temp help without benefits or pensions, and whenever possible move out of the country. Listen to those who advocate free trade and you will know who is benefiting from it.

You don't see them because the "Buy American" signs were all produced in China.
Free trade is good for America if you believe in a global society. If you don't believe in a global society, and are more nationalist in your socio-economic believes, then free trade is bad. One of the problems with a global society is that 1-we are not all on equal footing around the world and 2-there is a clash of civilization.

Does the word Impossible mean anything? Yeah, I think everyone is giving up and NO, free trade is not great, but things could be worse. Every non-American country can make things cheaper. They don't have Ahheeemmm...union wages. Unions might protect the workers, but it's breaking our system.
