So, I have this magor oil leak all of a sudden out of no where! I mean bad, I have not had a chance to go get an oil change which I am over due for, so I have at ;least made sure that I have been putting oil in it. Anyway, the other day my cousin said that it seems that there is oil leaking from the filter. So, I called the shop and they said that the filter must not be screwed on all of the way. Yaddaayada. Anyway, so I have an appointment for monday to get an oil change. Today I get in my car to go to work, mind you last nihgt it was fine, and it seems to be idling heavy, almost like the engine is knocking. Also the Check engine light is FLASHING! I got a ride to work where everyone assured me that I must just be out of oil. However, when I got home, I checked the oil level, and it's fine. WHAT THE HELL COULD BE WRONG WITH MY CAR YOU GUYS???!!! SOME one please give me some ideas.

A flashing check engine light is the absolute worst kind of warning light you can have. It means you are doing serious damage to your catalytic converter and you need to pull over and shut down the engine ASAP. Take it in immediately, do not wait, do not pass Go, do not collect $200 unless you want this repair to get really expensive.

first of all ...check your oil level. if it's good and it still seems to be running heavy and flashing engine light you might have lost the pump. at that point shut it off and have it towed to a shop, be prepared to spend a bit. should have changed that oil on time!!

maximum factors keep chains will study the code out of your engine pc for loose if it runs nicely sufficient to get right down to the factors keep. or you're able to purchase the 'reader' for sort of 50 dollars, and study your very own code, and figuire out how severe an issue is till now you pay for a tow, or to talk to the broker. many of the 'verify engine' gentle applications are based around emissions administration applications. in case you have oil rigidity, and cooling, you're probable good to make it to the factors keep.

I'd quit driving it and have it towed into the shop. You don't want to mess with low oil pressure. If the engine seizes up, you're in bad trouble. Replacement engines aren't cheap.
