If it's really causing a rivot in your relationship, it might be time to take a break, especially if he doesn't get along with or support your GLBT friends. I couldn't be in a relationship where my boyfriend put down my friends. It's great that you've been in such a long relationship but maybe it's time to explore other options with someone who shares the same values as you. Good luck.

If your boyfriend can't support you through anything, even if he doesn''t agree with something, then you should really examine how deep your feelings are for him. You don't try to provoke someone you love into an argument. If he can't support something that means a lot to you, he's not for you. Flat out.

You "really like him and enjoy his company" - sure, as long as you tiptoe around on eggshells and bend over backwards to avoid any topic that might set him off on another round of the "Let's humiliate the girlfriend" game. Where is your pride?

I feel your pain
I've been a pro abortion activist for many years, and have trouble relating to females in a relationship who are anti-abortion

Dump the loser, then! If he doesnt treat you well, why cater to him? if you break up with him, dont show him any pity or he might think you're a suck up or something. dont be afraid to tell him why you want to end the relationship, just come forward and try to keep calm. if he becomes forceful, kick his ***. just kidding, just try to be out of danger. good luckkk.

as long as you understand it's a relationship that won't go too far, then sure stay with him.
the way i see it, there's at least one guy out there who would share your love with activism and who would make you happy supporting you in whatever you do, you just have to find him. if it's too hard, you can always just stay with your man.

Dead beat boyfriend should be dismissed especially if they are non-supportive with you. Nine years of this and being that you are unhappy, you know what to do just do it.

yes, he probably does not like you very much but feels guilty about breaking up with you for some reason. you would probably be doing him a favor if you broke up with him.
