I have some acne, sometimes oily skin. Redness comes easily. I tried some foundations, but sometimes by the end of the day, it feels like went away. Which ones best to actually cover and stay?

Depends on how much you are willing to spend. Ask the people in the store to try different ones on you and pick a good one (but be careful and make sure you like it too because they try really hard to sell you anything they can)

I use Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have tried a few others, but they either contains small amounts of preservatives or are made up with a lot of fillers. The mineral makeup goes a long way. It is a little bit more than some of the drugstore foundations but it will last longer. It brings out your natural beauty while minimizing any flaws or wrinkles. It is multi-purpose and very versatile. Affordable Mineral Makeup is micro-formulated using the highest quality minerals and botanicals; being naturally preservative and irritant-free it is also weightless and incredibly long-wearing. It does not clog pores and it has a naturally high SPF. It helps to calm and soothe irritated skin with its zinc content, and is water resistant. Providing excellent coverage.
Affordable Mineral Makeup does not contain Bismuth Oxychloride like many of the other mineral foundations do. Bismuth can clog your pores and cause your skin to itch. There are problems associated with it. Its molecular makeup is a crystalline shape, which may be a cause of the itchiness some women get when they wear it. Many women experience noticeable itching when they sweat. Don't forget it is also kin to arsenic, chemically. Your body will reject things it does not like, and if you'll get sick from ingesting arsenic, it would make sense that your skin would get irritated from having arsenic forced into it. Companies use Bismuth in their cosmetics because it is cheap to buy and is an inexpensive filler. It does have binding qualities, so the makeup will "stick" to your skin, so to speak. But there are other products that are just as effective at adhesion, and are better for your skin.
Many other makeups contain preservatives that are also not good for your skin.

Affordable Mineral Makeup enables you to feel free, experience natural beauty and is good for you.

•Titanium Dioxide also has waterproof and SPF properties while providing a Matte look.
•Mica has some transparent properties and allows the makeup to go on smoothly.
•Iron Oxides give the makeup its pigment.

I have problem skin, large pores, combination and prone to outbreaks. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear. Nothing comes close to it. I have been to other make up counter such as YSL, MAC etc and they even say that nothing comes close to Double wear in terms of coverage.

I apply it with a foundation brush. It lasts all day. I don't even need concealer with it.

It is pricey (£20) but lasts a long time and is well worth the money.

MAC is also good and you can build it (apply a few coats) and it does not clog.

Revlon Colourstay is good for the price too.

Lancome is nice but the coverage is not great if your skin is like mine.

A good concealer is Benefit Boi-ing is really good; truly industrial strength.

I am yet to find a good pressed powder though.

Good luck.

Next time you go to Sephora or a department store, head over to the Lancome counter. Check out "Dual Finish Powder.... Versatile Powder Makeup."

I LOVE this product. It helps to even out my skin tone since I also have the redness issue. Since it works like a foundation and a powder, you kill two birds with one stone. It is around $30, but I highly recommend it. Give it a shot. If you hate it you can always return it.

Good luck!

I love bare mineral makeup. It stays all day and covers redness, but doesnt look like you are wearing makeup. the mineral-veil takes care of oily shine also.It allows your skin to breathe which is healthy, and doesnt cause more breakouts. Since it is all natural you can even sleep in it and it wont clog pores.

I really like Loreal's pan stick. I apply it to my face and smooth it with a sponge. I work eight hours in a casino, and all I need to do to keep it looking fresh is occasionally blot with tissue.

By the way...Loreal is owned by Lancome, and their products are great as well.

I heard you can get really good coverage and no melt down by using tinted mineral powder as a foundation.

Try the new Almay foundation they have out. It goes on white but then it fits to your face color. ITs a bit costly but it works really good.

Go to beauty counters and ask for samples, they will sit you in their chair and try them on you, and you can pick one you like and take it home and try it. Try a few before you buy one.
