I have had a Dell Inspiron 6000 for over a year and I love it. Bought one for my mom who never had one, and her only problems with it is, she doesnt always know how to do things on it. My sister bought one, and she has had problems because her daughter is always downloading off the internet. Would not have a problem in purchasing another Dell when the need arises.

Any notebook is good for just "daily work" such as browsing the internet and checking emails. A 486 PC will work fine for that. It's the extras that will bog you down. Do you need Windows Office? Needs more memory and faster CPU. Need to multitask? same thing . Have to have Windows XP or Vista. Sam thing. ALso need more if your going to play games. So as you can see you need to submit more than just what you have stated above.

I'm happy with my dell Inspiron 1501 Turion64X2 I got 2 months ago. It's fast, sleek, low-cost and overall a good value with the new Vista. Say no to all their extras except the 1028MB ram. Check it out.

Dell has no quality....sorry to say.

I buy Toshiba...works wonderful! But that is just my opinion. I had a dell....i know a lot of people who had Dells.....We don't have them any more simply because they died...and apparent, even with a warranty...Dell doesn't care.
